The Build It team was recently lucky enough to be invited to the launch of a new Retrofit Zone at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon. The exhibit features three life-size building sections, demonstrating how to approach updating different house types. Regular readers will recall we ran an Eco Renovation Special in the October 2025 edition (see self-build.co.uk/complete-retrofit-guide), and I’m delighted the NSBRC is joining us in spotlighting retrofit. Much of our nation’s housing stock is in dire need of upgrading. A strategic approach is vital to success – and independent resources like ours are essential for sharing valuable and impartial advice.
