DAVID DEVINE has hardly had a moment’s rest during an injury-stricken three years – and his work paid off with silver at the IPC European Championships this month in Grosseto, writes Ben Coldwell.
The 24-year-old T12/13 middle-distance runner made his long-awaited return to the international stage and finished second in the 1500m in 3:58.42 – his first race in a GB vest since winning two bronzes at the 2012 Paralympics in London.
“I had to cross-train every day for three years,” Devine said. “I’ve probably only had 30 days off from that for three years but all the rest of the time I’ve been in the pool or on the cross trainer.
