What would you prefer, reader – a diagram of the PC muscle or this rather gorgeous bum?
I am a great believer that we hold a huge amount of power in our vaginas. Both emotionally and physically. This article will cover the strongest part of our genitals – the pubococcygeus (PC) muscle. Your PC muscle is what you squeeze when you need the loo but have to hold it in.
It is like a “hammock” – starting at the pubic bone and hooking over to the coccyx (that’s when the name makes sense!) or tailbone. Because of how it’s placed, it forms the floor underneath the pelvic organs (both your plumbing and reproductive organs), and basically keeps them up where they should be! That’s why it’s also called the pelvic floor. When weakened, it puts you at risk of a pelvic prolapse.
