Great British Food Magazine Xmas-20 Back Issue

English
6 Reviews   •  English   •   Family & Home (Food & Cooking)
This issue of GBF is all about lifting
our spirits through food and drink,
from Grace Dent’s tribute to the retro
joys of Paxo stuffing and Quality Street
on p.42 and Jamie Oliver’s foolproof
festive mains (p.59) to our masterclass
on assembling the best ever Boxing
Day sandwich on p.111.

2020 has presented all manner of unexpected changes, and while it may not be entirely certain how we’ll be spending the big day this year, there are a few things we can control – especially where we shop and what we buy. If lockdown has taught us anything, it’s that independent, local businesses are the lifeblood of our food and drink culture – and there’s never been a more important time to support them. Indeed, as part of the Great British Food Awards 2020 we’re championing standout producers from across the UK, and our host of incredible winners on p.141 should offer tonnes of
inspiration for your festive shopping. Whether that’s smoked
salmon or fresh oysters from your favourite fishmonger
(p.126), locally-made craft gin (p.88) or the most delicious
English sparkling wine (p.169), there’s no shortage of topquality
foodie treats to enjoy – and gift – this winter.

Have a fantastic Christmas!
