VEGAN CAMP-OUT
Festivals are increasingly popular among people of all ages and the end of August welcomed Vegan Camp-Out, the UK’s largest outdoor vegan festival. 7,500 visitors from 40 countries took part in talks, music, yoga, meditation, activism workshops and after parties. Families had their own private camping area, where activities for children included face painting, bouncy castle and slides, and there was a quiet camping zone for those who preferred a more relaxed experience. Speakers and artists included rapper Akala, activists James Aspey and Earthling Ed and founder of Viva!, Juliet Gellatley. Campers could enjoy 34 vegan food vendors who offered every cuisine imaginable, from a fresh fruit shop to deep-fried vegan ‘fish’ and chips by Unity. Each night saw an after party until the early hours of the morning including Shikari Sound System (the alter-ego of Enter Shikari) and hip-hop and Grime by Benj of ethical clothing brand Ethcs. Vegan Camp-Out returns in 2020 at Newark Showground from August 21-24, early-bird tickets can be purchased at a discounted price of £45 from vegancampout.co.uk

About Vegan Food & Living Magazine
Vegan cheese is the one thing that still divides opinions in the vegan community, so if you can't find one you like, try making your own! We've got plenty of delicious vegan cheese recipes to inspire you this issue, from authentic blue cheese to melting mozzarella sticks and smoked Cheddar. You have to try them!
Also this issue, we reveal how to take the classic Mac n Cheese to the next level, share posh takes on potatoes and reveal how to cook some of high street chain Wagamama's best vegan dishes.
If that's not enough, we share top tips for starting off on a zero waste journey, show how to use up your food waste and reveal easy ways to better self-care. Plus we have part 2 in our Remarkable Women on the Frontline for Animals series.
