Books have always been an excellent way for children to explore and learn more about the world around us. This is true for babies, pre-schoolers, young children, middlegrade readers and teenagers.

Young adult (YA) fiction, formerly known as teenage fiction, has received a bit of a mixed press historically but is currently enjoying a muchdeserved rise in popularity. In recent years, dystopian novels such as the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, supernatural romance books like the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyers and real-life, contemporary novels such as The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, have all proven that young adult fiction can be phenomenally successful.
