Into The Mystery ELEKTRA
Eighth album from South Carolina Christian rockers.
Recorded in Columbia over three convivial weeks, with a documentary crew following them as they made the album, Into The Mystery is a remarkably polished piece of work under the circumstances. It has strong acoustic leanings but is nonetheless subtly processed and filtered in places where emotional emphasis is required. The tone is set on What I’m Here For, on which Bear Rinehart’s vocals are tremulous, vulnerable, frank. As with the title track, as indeed with the remainder of the album, it’s the sort of song that would sit well over the closing montage of the last episode of an acclaimed Netflix series, uncertain if there’ll be another season.
