Spare a thought for the modern hardcore band. In a genre that barely shifted style or tone since its inception, the sudden success of Turnstile and Knocked Loose has left a scramble where lunk-headed breakdowns and gang chants are no longer sufficient. That does leave some room for innovation, though, and it’s a space that DoFlame clearly want to explore.
