Thirty years ago, band manager Greg Jacobs compiled a collection of road anecdotes for a book on San Diego imprint Rockpress. Now he’s sourced enough for a sequel, padded out with some ‘greatest hits’ from the out-of-press first one. They include The Almighty’s Ricky Warwick recalling a cross-channel acid trip where they all superglued toy caterpillars to their eyebrows; Nashville Pussy’s Corey Parker relating the tale of being rescued by Lemmy from a wardrobe malfunction; and Rocket From The Crypt getting savaged by the same dog twice. Another bunch of young punks learn the hard way that Michigan is a ‘no-fault state’ for drink driving (who knew?) after an errant motorist literally lands on top of their tour bus.
