Microsoft’s ‘don’t uninstall’ guide to uninstalling Edge
If at any time recently you’ve searched for advice on uninstalling Edge, you might have seen a guide from Microsoft promising exactly that. And you might have clicked it, assuming quite reasonably that Microsoft would know the best way to remove its own browser. But that would be forgetting the company’s almost pathological desire to keep you using Edge instead of Chrome. The company’s instructions online were more concerned with questioning your judgement. It also claimed you’ll miss out on “features powered by Edge”, with images below suggesting these include the Microsoft Store and widgets. Well, they might work a tad less smoothly, but you’ll hardly notice the difference.
