To keep prices low TV manufacturers often compromise sound quality. You can counter this by adding a soundbar (as we explain on page 62). The Sony HT-SF150 offers significant improvements over sub-standard TV speakers for a very reasonable price.
An affordable TV soundbar that offers clarity and power Setting it up is simple as long as your TV has either an HDMI ARC port or a digital optical output. Both are common, but it’s worth checking that your TV has one before you buy. If so, you can connect the soundbar using the included cables, plug it into a power socket and you’re up and running. We used the HDMI ARC connection in our tests because it lets you adjust the sound bar’s volume using your TV’s remote control, which is more convenient than juggling two remotes.
