NHS SOFTWARE FIRM FINED £3M FOR HACK
The UK’s data watchdog has fined NHS software provider Advanced Computer Software £3m for a ransomware attack in August 2022 that disrupted services. Hackers also stole details of nearly 80,000 in the attack. The Information Commissioner’s Office said a subsidiary of the company “broke data protection law by failing to fully implement appropriate security measures such as multifactor authentication coverage”.
