Online-only auctions
The highest-value lot sold in a timed online sale by Forum Auctions so far this year was this New and Accurat Map of the World Drawne according to the best and Late Discoveries: Anno Domi. 1663, printed by Peter Stent (c.1613-65). While extremely rare, the poor condition of the lot guided the pre-sale estimate of £700-1000. There were five active bidders, with the hammer coming down at £5500 (plus buyer’s premium).
