BEING diagnosed with a major health condition like diabetes often means making some substantial changes to your life. Suddenly there are new routines to learn: monitoring blood glucose, paying closer attention to food choices, taking medications at the right time and scheduling regular check-ups. At the same time, people often wonder whether they can still do the things they enjoy. For others, a diagnosis becomes a moment of reflection, a pause to take stock and think about what really matters. In short, it’s a period of disruption and adjustment.
