Let’s Make A Plan
Planning for weight loss, rather than leaving things loose, can make a real difference on the scales explains CSRIO Total Wellbeing Dietitian Nicole Pritchard
We all know that feeling of having to fly by the seat of our pants. Whether it’s a presentation at work, job interview, or our child’s birthday party that came around far too quick. These are never examples of our best work. And while that might be okay for certain things and at certain times, what I’ve seen over the years in my work as an Accredited Practising Dietitian is that when it comes to our health - putting the time in to prepare and plan for your weight loss journey makes all the difference.
Particularly when it comes to diabetes, a small weight loss (5-10% of body weight) can make a huge difference to lowering the risk of related complications, and even delay or prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. So, it really is critical to put your best foot forward!
As with anything, scientific evidence is always more persuasive than observations - with a recent study from CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, revealing that people who use meal plans lose more weight.
