Panasonic Lumix GH7
The successor to the video-centric GH6 gets a new sensor and phase-detection autofocus
Sharing the same body as the previous model, the GH7 offers the same chunky grip, built-in cooling fan, button array and articulating LCD. Inside, the GH7 features a newly developed Micro Four Thirds (MFT) sensor, which offers the same pixel density as the previous model (25.2MP) but now on a BSI CMOS sensor, which enables up to 13+ stops of dynamic range. The sensor is supported by advanced image stabilisation, including distortion correction in videos and a High I.S. mode for even steadier digital stabilisation in demanding situations. The PDAF autofocus system enables faster and more accurate focus and tracking for human faces and eyes, as well as animals, birds, cars and motorcycles – plus two new additions, aeroplanes and trains. The GH7 is capable of unlimited video recording, says Panasonic, thanks to its integrated heat dissipation and cooling fan. Internal recording specs include 5.7K 60p, 4K 120p or Full HD 240p, plus 5.7K 30p ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes RAW HQ. www.panasonic.com; £1,999/$2,199 (body only)
