“Before all the bullshit and expectations, we know who we are”
The issues that are closest to my heart are centred around equality. Gender equality, racial equality, access to high quality education no matter your class or level of wealth, and equality for LBGT+ people. I’m often asked which is most important to me, and without a doubt it’s gender. Whilst women are not a minority, we are marginalised, under-represented and misrepresented. However, whilst I consider myself a feminist without question, my feminism does not operate without the intersections of being an ethnic minority, an untouchable caste, working class and lesbian.
