Unbelievably unavailable on any streaming or digital platform, but at least easily found on DVD, this one-season wonder of a spin-off from The X-Files remains one of Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan’s proudest achievements, despite disappointing ratings. “I would hold The Lone Gunmen up against anything that I have done before or since,” he said recently, and, along with fellow co-creators Chris Carter, John Shiban and Frank Spotnitz, he helped maintain a high level of smart writing, wry humour and inventive visuals across 13 fine episodes involving the trio of conspiracy-theory experts.
