The highlight of Bonhams’ Asian offering is the November 2 sale of Parry collection of Chinese art. This English private group of Imperial enamel, lacquer, porcelain and jades was formed through the famous London dealership Spink and Bluetts from as early as 1919 and kept within the family for three generations. Highlights of the collection were on view in Hong Kong earlier this month.
Six of the pieces in the Parry collection were included in the International Exhibition of Chinese Art, held in 1935-36 at Royal Academy of Arts.
