England is set to host the Women’s Euros – let the countdown begin
An international tournament should have ended at Wembley this summer – and it wasn’t Euro 2020.
The Women’s European Championship was initially scheduled for July and August 2021, with England hosting the tournament for the first time since 2005. But when coronavirus caused the men’s Euros to be pushed back to 2021, it was subsequently decided that the Women’s Euros should be delayed as well, to 2022, ensuring it got the full attention it deserved in a summer without another major tournament.
