A bumper crop of newborns is expected this year, with celebrity mums-to-be from the UK to Hollywood preparing to welcome the pitter-patter of tiny feet to their homes. And as actor Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz last week announced they are looking forward to not one but two new additions to their brood, we take a look at the other celebrities – from film and TV stars to supermodels – all of whom are excited to be expanding their families in 2022…

Jennifer will be welcoming her first child

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer and her husband, art gallery director Cooke Maroney, confirmed their happy baby news last September; at first the Hunger Games star appeared to be keeping mum but, last month, she looked thrilled to debut her baby bump on the red carpet when she attended the premiere of her latest film, Don’t Look Up.

The 31-year-old later spoke about how she intends to keep the pregnancy, and her child, as private as she can. “If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like: ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like: ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!’ But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can.”

The couple, who started their relationship in June 2018, got married in October the following year in front of guests including Adele, Kris Jenner, Emma Stone and Amy Schumer.

In true supermodel style, Rosie let the images do the talking when she announced her impending new arrival by posting a series of selfies on her Instagram account in August, which revealed her growing bump. Her caption simply said: “Taa daahhh!!”
