‘I’m not sure there are enough words to say how grateful ever yone is for what you have done’
Never work with children or animals, as the old adage goes. But that rule didn’t apply to the Duchess of Cambridge, who handled them both like a true pro when she and the Duke visited Lancashire to champion mental wellbeing and thank hospital staff in Covid-hit rural areas for their work throughout the pandemic.
In fact, Kate beamed as she cuddled “so sweet” ten-week-old cockapoo puppy Alfie at Clitheroe Community Hospital – although she was worried their own pet pooch would be jealous.
“Our dog is going to be very upset,” she said, as Alfie nestled against her. “She’s going to be like: ‘Where have you been?’”
