DAME KELLY HOLMES has launched her ‘More Than Medals’ campaign to help retired sportspeople discover the benefit they can have to society through the application of skills acquired during their careers.

The campaign is run by the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, the double Olympic champion’s charity established in 2008 which provides support for young people, in and out of sport, up and down the country by utilising the multitude of specific skills and attitudes developed through sport.
Fittingly hosted just hours before the TeamGB Olympic parade, the More Than Medals conference brought together leaders in business and sport, including UK Sport CEO Liz Nicholl.
Research conducted by Professor David Lavallee at the University of Stirling in support of the Trust has shown the huge benefits that retired sportsmen and women can have in business and the community through a range of transferable skills when harnessed in the right way.
