200g fresh cherries, pitted, reserving a few whole with stalks to decorate
2 x 11.5g sachets Hartley’s Orange
Sugar Free Jelly crystals
400g chilled low-fat custard
600g fat-free natural fromage frais
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 level tbsp kirsch or cherry liqueur
2 level tbsp sweetener
Finely grated zest of 1 orange
1 Put most of the cherries in the base of a medium freezerproof trifle dish and place in the freezer. Make up the jelly according to the pack instructions. Allow to cool, then pour over the cherries.
2 Cover and chill for 4-5 hours, or until just set. Add the custard in an even layer.
3 Whisk the fromage frais, vanilla extract, kirsch and sweetener together until smooth. Spoon over the custard in another even layer.
4 Scatter over the orange zest and decorate with the reserved cherries. Divide the trifle between 6 bowls.
