Pivoting exercises primarily target the lower body muscles, particularly those around your ankle, knee, hip joints as well as your lower back. They are extremely beneficial to runners of all level and ambition.
What are the benefits?
The first benefit of pivoting is that it will improve your coordination and balance. By standing on one leg and moving through a controlled range of motion with the other leg, you’ll train the nerves supplying your muscles to get better at balancing.
The second benefit of pivoting is that it improves your hip, knee and ankle stability and strength. Trying to balance allows for small movements in your hips, knees and ankles. These small corrective movements help you to improve your balance, coordination and muscle strength.
