Most of us probably know the theory of good form, but staying tall and resisting those evil overstrides and heel strikes can be easier said than done. Enter Lumo Run. It’s a thumb-sized wearable sensor that analyses your running form and makes real-time audio suggestions of technique tweaks. It easily but securely clips onto the back of your shorts or tights waistband, and remains imperceptible during a run. If you want the audio coaching, you have to carry your smartphone (with the Lumo app installed) and earphones, too. But if that’s too bothersome you can simply sync up the data post-run (though an initial evaluation run requires the phone). The payoff is you’re not getting the live help.
