The Hysterectomy Association is seeking articles between 800 and 1,500 words and blog posts from 600 and 1,000 words about women’s health topics of interest to its mostly female readership, most of whom are aged between thirty and sixty, based in the UK and have had, or are thinking about having, a hysterectomy.
Typically, readers are looking for help and support in navigating what can be a physically and emotionally challenging time in their lives. Topics the HA is interested in include hysterectomy and hysterectomy recovery; advances in surgical techniques – from a patient perspective; conventional medical alternatives to hysterectomy; complimentary and alternative health options for avoiding hysterectomy; menopause; hormone replacement therapy; alternatives to HRT; latest research into women’s health conditions that can lead to gynaecological surgery, such as endometriosis, fibroids, prolapse etc; healthy lifestyles, exercise and diet that meets a women’s health needs; reviews of new women’s health books; research studies and scientific findings, and book reviews.
Original, well-written; practical articles that address the needs, fears, challenges and questions of the HA’s readership in informal, non-technical language are welcomed. Content should be actionable, compassionate and backed up by real-life case studies and statistics. Send doc or txt documents with a fifty-word bio and link to a website or blog. Specify ‘article’ or ‘blog’ in the submission email subject line.
