Serve me!
Can you run a Roundup on SME servers such as Koozali (about to upgrade to SMEserver 10 after several years of beta) or other email and web servers?
Dusty Pulver
Neil says… Thanks for the great suggestion. The problem is we’re not set up as a enterprise-level title. The level of time and resources needed to properly test a SME server is above what our contributors are set up for. On a cursory level we could look at the feature set, installation process, ease of configuration and management, but we’d be hard pressed to do anything meaningful on a performance basis. But now I said that out loud it doesn’t sound too bad and in fact we ran a Business Server Roundup in LXF227 where ClearOS won. So perhaps we could revisit something similar to that…
This is the clear winner in any distro test (I’m wearing a mask! – Ed).
Blend it
I’ve been a Linux users since 2007 when I was testing Windows Vista for Microsoft. I installed SUSE Linux over the lot and never went back. I’ve been using Blender for many years with Daz Studio, enabling me to download and convert models and characters to OBJ file format for use with Blender. I don’t think you’ve covered MakeHuman in any depth for several years? Is there any chance of this happening in the near future? It’s another brilliant program for character creation.
