NuTyX 22.07
David Rutland finds this distro with its unique package management system a little less nutty than he had expected. It’s certainly a bit crunchy.
IN BRIEF
NuTyx is a simple easy-touse distro with an unusual package manager, which stays out of your way as much as possible – almost to the point of anonymity. Coming with a range of desktop environments (or none at all), NuTyX has a flavour to suit you whatever distro or other OS you’re coming from, and its undemanding system requirements make it perfect for use on an old laptop.
NuTyX is an impressive French Distro with a small footprint. With the base version weighing in at a mere 715MB, it can fit on a single CD, and will run on any 32- or 64-bit system which can boast a paltry 1GB RAM. The distro is built using Linux From Scratch (see LXF286), and offers a unique package manager.
