M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max
After first making its debut inside the iPad Pro 2024 in May, Apple’s next-gen M4 has finally made it to the Mac – and how.
Based on a 3nm process, the M4, M4
Pro and M4 Max chips are both not only power efficient in terms of performance per watt, they’re also powerful period, featuring both 16-core Neural Engines to help with things like machine learning and Apple Intelligence, and a Media Engine for fast video encoding/decoding. Graphically too, the new Mac chips should be great when gaming, supporting mesh shading and ray tracing in the latest AAA games.
