The ability to merge contact details with documents has been missing from Pages for almost a decade. But now, the ability to send the same letter to lots of different people without having to create a new document manually and copy and paste into each one is back in Pages 12.1.
Mail merge is one of those features that if you need it, it’s indispensible and if you don’t you probably haven’t even noticed it was missing. However, for a tool that aims to be an alternative to the likes of Microsoft Word, it was a glaring omission and meant relying on workarounds using AppleScript to fill the gap.
