New features for focus, productivity and more
WIDGETS
A Lock Screen widgets are similar to
Home Screen widgets. They pull
data from apps and display it in a
predefined space on the Lock Screen,
and you can choose which apps to
display. Developers can make widgets for
their own apps, just as they can for the
Home Screen. There are two size options
and you can fit two large, four small or
one large and two small widgets on the
iOS 16 Lock Screen.
NOTIFICATIONS
B Lock Screen notifications are now
less intrusive. They slide up from
the bottom so they don’t interfere with
widgets, which sit under the clock. There
are three new options for displaying
notifications: Hidden hides them until
you tap the Notifications indicator at the
bottom of the screen; Stacked displays
them as a stack that opens when you
swipe up over it; and List displays them
in a list, one above the other.
