MESSAGES AND MAIL
New abilities bring Apple’s messaging apps up to date
DO MORE WITH MESSAGES
HASTY TYPISTS REJOICE! The next time you write a text in Messages and pepper it with typos, iOS 16 will give you the ability to undo your mistakes (without having to clarify in a follow–up message what you meant to say…). There are caveats: You only have 15 minutes to correct a sent message before your text “Fanpy comming to the bor tonite?” is preserved for posterity; and the recipient will need to be running iOS 16 too. To correct a sent message, long–press it, and tap Edit from the menu that appears. You can also Unsend messages — the perfect face–saver for those times when you drunkenly text your ex from the “bor”…
COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS EASILY
IF YOU WANT to work on a project with friends, you can now invite them to join you via Messages. To do that, open the file or document you want to share, select Messages from the Share sheet and choose who you want to have access. From then on, updates on any changes being made to the file will appear in the same message thread, so everyone who’s involved in the project will be kept up to date with what’s going on.
