If you’re going abroad for business or pleasure, or just need a good translator, the new Translate app on your watch is a brilliant companion. You can enter a phrase by typing or saying it and the app will automatically translate it to your selected language. It can then display the results and (if you want it to) read the translation out loud, and you can adjust the playback speed if it’s too fast or slow. You can also save your translations, which is a great way to get fast access to commonly used phrases for things like ordering food. One of our favorite features here is the ability to download the language models to your Apple Watch. That’s really useful for places where you can’t be sure of getting a solid data connection. Translate currently understands 20 languages and the offline mode is available for the Series 9 and Ultra onwards.
