HOW TO USE MY iMAC 5K 2017 AS AN EXTERNAL DISPLAY?
Your iMac is too recent to be run as a target display (see https:// apple.co/41l6Z9j). The only way to use it as a display is through AirPlay Display in Monterey and later, which probably isn’t what you had in mind.
WHAT DO I NEED TO USE MY iPHONE AS A WEBCAM?
Your host Mac must be running Ventura and signed in to the same Apple ID with two– factor authentication (2FA). Your iPhone must be an XR or more recent (2018 or later) running iOS 16, and close to your Mac. A mount isn’t required. Both need Wi–Fi and Bluetooth, and not sharing mobile data or internet.
