Sony WH-1000XM4
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, just tweak it?
SINCE ITS 1979 launch of the Walkman companion headphones, Sony has been at the forefront of commercial audio tech, and the WH-1000XM4 is a fine example of that, as they lean ever closer towards "affordable" audio perfection.
At first glance, you might not get the sense that these headphones contain some serious power under the hood, as this power is hidden under an elegant and sleek body. Its smooth matte monocolored finish pushes the idea that Sony wanted sophistication with substance. It hasn't visibly changed much from its predecessor, but that isn’t a bad thing— Sony has swayed us with that “less is more” mindset. Brass/gold accents continue that minimal design language but give the headphones a touch of class. The look is a timeless one.
