T hewinter months are often referred to as the ‘modelling season’ – areflection perhaps that railway modelling, a mostly Above: indoor pursuit, tends to be enjoyed when the weather is inclement and long hours of darkness lead us to hunker down in our centrally heated homes.
However, while the beautiful June weather we have been enjoying as I write this is very conducive to a walk, picnic or trip to the seaside, there is plenty of modelling activity that can take place. Or perhaps not strictly modelling, but observing. The bright sunshine and chance to spend time outdoors often draw me to one of my other pastimes: photography. Or more specifically, railway photography.
