Seventy years ago, comedy classic The Titfield Thunderbolt was released. Its influence was immediate, with road hauliers regularly facing off with the railway at level crossings, much like the infamous ‘duel’ scene between a ‘14XX’ and Harry Hawkins’ steam roller. Here is such a scenario but, unlike the film, everyone saw common sense. After a little banter, they all went for a pint or two in the nearby pub.
