GET A GATE…
After marrying a lass from Chorley, ‘Get a gate’ was a local saying that vexed our editor for years. However, now we can all get a very realistic set of timber crossing gates, thanks to Scale Model Scenery. Rendered in laser-cut fibreboard, the parts are layered to create an impressive sense of depth. Based on the gates installed at Goathland station on the North York Moors heritage line, the large upgrade kit (£10.95); Replacement bulbs for Hornby and small gates feature fine mesh panels (on the ‘OO’ kit only), along with separate hinge and strap detail. The ‘OO’ kit also provides a length of blackened wire to act as a hinge. Once painted and installed, these gates will look fantastic.
