Wilmington Grammar School for Boys (Dartford), runs an annual enrichment week where students undertake educationally based activities that would not normally be on the curriculum. With a desire to inspire the next generation of railway modellers, I, along with fellow teachers, Paul Dent and Paul Clark set about resourcing a project for 26 Year 7 pupils (11‐12 years old) to create their own model railways over the course of five days. Excluding two pupils, all were complete novices and all had the opportunity to develop new skills and passions.
