BÒRD na Gàidhlig has congratulated Ardnamurchan High School after the school won the Gaelic Education Award at the Scottish Education Awards 2017 which were held recently in Glasgow on Wednesday June 7.
The Gaelic Education Award is sponsored by Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Ardnamurchan High School was praised for its strong ethos for Gaelic across the whole establishment which creates an inclusive environment for Gaelic language, culture and heritage; staff who are highly committed to the development of Gaelic language and as a school where a high value is placed on ensuring that pupils have a sound knowledge of Gaelic heritage of the local area through, for example, place names and songs.
The participation of young people in events such as village hall tours, ceilidh trails, the national schools Gaelic debate, shinty, John Muir Award and FilmG enhance the quality of the learning experiences and further develop Gaelic language and awareness of culture.
