IT IS clear NHS Highlands has a fight on its hands with a petition launched this week, calling on NHS Highland’s chairman to immediately reopen the Dail Mhor House care facility at Strontian, having attracted almost 600 signatures as the Lochaber Times went to press.
The home closed last August and its five residents temporarily relocated after residents and their families were told essential plumbing work was required which would take around two weeks to complete.
Now seven months later the community has been faced with the news that NHS Highland will reopen the home for day care and other services, but that the home will not reopen in the foreseeable future for residential care.
