HP Omen Max 45L (2026)

HP Omen Max 45L (2026)

The new Omen Max 45L extracts the most from its components with minimum noise – and a high price

SCORE

PRICE £2,916 (£3,500 inc VAT) from hp.com

Forget mini PCs: manufacturers are fully embracing massive cases for their flagship gaming desktops, and HP is no exception with the Omen Max 45L. It’s proving popular, too: as we go to press, only one model is still available to buy from HP’s UK site, with a Ryzen 9 9900X3D paired with 64GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics card. That costs £3,500. The closest match to our test system, with a Ryzen 9 9900X3D, 128GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 5090, was listed at £5,000, but there’s no sign of it coming back into stock. The chassis is a matte-black aluminium affair with a glass front and glass side panel, providing an uninterrupted view inside the chassis to the three vertically stacked 120mm RGB intake fans. The CPU radiator is mounted in a dedicated housing at the top of the chassis, leaving an air gap between it and the rest of the case. HP calls this the “Cryo Chamber” because it’s isolated from the interior of the chassis and has access to fresh outside air. HP claims this setup reduces the CPU temperature by up to 7°C versus competing solutions, helped by three additional 120mm fans mounted at the bottom of the Cryo Chamber that push air upward over the radiator.
