The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro punches above its price with a 6.8in display, classy aluminium chassis and a reasonably powerful chipset. It also continues Nothing’s disruptive attitude to design, bringing back the Phone 3’s flexible Glyph Matrix (see issue 372, p55).
I love this design, which remains both unique and understated. I know some people will be sorry not to see the full transparent backplate as found on other Nothing phones, but the 4a Pro (let’s drop the irritating brackets) still looks suitably industrial and offers reassuring build quality, with Gorilla Glass 7i to resist scratches and an IP65 rating for protection against dust and accidental dunks in water. You can pick from black, white and dusty pink finishes; my favourite is the white model, which really shows off the stark design.
