If you’re looking for a European Linux, there are plenty to choose from. Ubuntu is UK-based; Zorin and Linux Mint are led from Ireland; and both Manjaro and openSUSE comes from Germany.
openSUSE is available in two flavours: Tumbleweed and Leap. We opted for Tumbleweed, a rolling distro that’s being constantly updated so there are no major milestone releases. Leap operates a more traditional phased cycle, with one major update a year, patched as and when required. There are three default desktops to choose from: KDE Plasma 5 (which we selected), GNOME and Xfce.
