British PC manufacturer Wred2Fire was a late entrant to this test, kindly rushing us its AMD R8845 Mini PC at short notice. Like the Geekom and Minisforum systems, it’s aimed at consumers rather than businesses, with no management features and Windows 11 Home. Nor will you find luxuries such as a fingerprint or memory card reader on its sides. As a result there’s something pleasingly uncluttered about the design and at 0.9 litres it’s also very small – but not tiny.
For the money, this mini PC has an eyewatering specification. It’s powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor offering eight cores and 16 threads. It’s a potent choice, with a 5.1GHz boost speed and onboard NPU contributing 16 TOPS. While that falls short of the Copilot+ PC bar, it will still come in useful, especially when Wired2Fire includes a generous 32GB of RAM and a massive 2TB SSD.
