Jon Anderson once said that it didn’t matter who was playing Yes music as long as it was being played somewhere, and right now Jon Anderson is playing Yes music better than anyone. Recorded with his internet-recruited back-up group The Band Geeks before last year’s thrillingly Proustian True album, Perpetual Change finds Anderson leading his own tribute band through a carbon copy of the best bits of 1973’s Yessongs, with a couple of later highlights in Awaken and The Gates Of Delirium tossed in for good measure.
