Hello and welcome to the latest issue of Prog. It seems hard to believe that Chris Squire has been gone for an entire decade. I recall so clearly, 10 years ago almost to this day, I was on the phone to the BBC news, trying to mask the dismay of his passing by offering an insight into what made him so special. Squire wasn’t just a fantastic musician, he really was a largerthan-life character. His sense of musical adventure went a long way to help make progressive rock such an enduring artform, but so did his wholehearted embracing of life itself. I genuinely think that, combined with his alignment with like-minded musical companions, is one of the reasons why the bond between the music they created and the fans who love it so remains so strong more than 50 years down the line.
