While it’s not quite as comprehensive as we’d like, we’ve still had a lot of fun blasting our way through Taito’s pricey compilation. The Invincible Collection has been coded inhouse and has excellent emulation, numerous graphical options and online leaderboards for a large number of the included games. Highlights of the package include Space Invaders Extreme, Majestic Twelve and Space Invaders DX. Older titles like the original Space Invaders now benefit from a new Challenge Mode which gives tasks ranging from getting a high score to surviving a time limit, while the presentation is lovely. It’s just a shame there aren’t historical documents and a few extra games to justify the high price.
