Sony went back to basics after unveiling an illreceived prototype controller at E3 2005, reverting to the familiar DualShock body for its standard PlayStation 3 pad. A new Home button sat in the centre of the device, the L2 and R2 buttons were converted into analogue triggers and the controller had motion-sensing capabilities from which it derived its name. It was the first wireless controller to be included as standard with a PlayStation system, using Bluetooth technology for connection, and featured a rechargeable battery that could be charged with a Mini-USB cable.
